JMB Design is named after our Founder's late grandfather, Jerry M. Boyer.
Mr. Boyer was an inspiring artist in his own right and had a profound ability to create beautiful artwork with an attention to harmony of form, texture, and color.
This approach is reflected in how we approach every aspect of our services. From logo design to use of typography; color palettes to page layout; we remain ever conscious of these deep relationships and work to provide the best end product possible for our clients.
Our care and mindfulness to providing these services isn't exclusive to design but is also applied to our technology consulting. Andrew takes great care to listen with understanding, to distill complex thoughts into simple ideas, and deliver a service that meets the needs of our client's business as if there were no other way to have conceived it.
It is in this approach that JMB Design hopes to honor Mr. Boyer, and see his work live on in the form of our work for our clients.
A logo is designed to give customers a visual identity of the brand--a look into what the organization believes in, feels, and cares most deeply about in this world.
It can convey emotion with the use of color, movement with the use of orientation, and history with the use of typography.
When designing our logo for JMB Design, we wanted to pay tribute to our Founder's late grandfather by incorporating something incredibly personal and easily identifiable--his signature at the bottom of every painting he created.
From here, we set to select a typography for the logotype that conveyed a strong sense of heritage, resulting in the use of a bold Serif typeface that stood in contrast to the stroke of the signature.
Finally, tying it off with a simple palette of colors--Red, an energetic color associated with love; Black, associated with elegance and professionalism; and Light Grey, associated with balance and harmony.
The artwork shown in The Boyer Gallery is a small collection of our personal favorites from the wide range of pieces Jerry Boyer created over the course of his life. You will see digital recreations of this collection incorporated throughout the site as a further dedication to Mr. Boyer.
